Hello everyone. Today I'm publishing the last part of the Loire Valley. I hope you have liked the posts and have found them useful for future trips or just to learn a little about this beautiful place.
Today I’m going to tell you a little about Asay le Rideau and Villandry castles, besides Orleans city.

This is a Renaissance castle built on an island in the Indre River. Being surrounded by water and trees at the same time gives you a spectacular look. It is 25 Km of Tours.
It was built in the eleventh century and burned during the 100 years war. Then, it was rebuilt in the reign of Francis I. Its interior is decorated with a collection of pieces from the Renaissance.
You can't miss: the central staircase and carved ceiling, fireplace adorned with a salamander and a walk round the castle.

Villandry Castle
It is the last Renaissance castle that was built on the banks of the Loire River. It is 16 Km of Tours.
It was built in 1536 by the finance minister of King Francis I. To do this, he shot down a medieval castle that was in this place, leaving only the tower standing. It is a house that is fully furnished and decorated in the style of the eighteenth century. It also has a temporary exhibition gallery.
However, for me, the most beautiful of this castle is not really the Castle (sounds kinda weird) but its impressive gardens, really worth seeing them.
These gardens are so large and varied that two plantations are performed each year: one in the spring (which lasts from March to June) and the other in summer (which lasts from June to November). So if you're going to Villandry, make sure to be there on those dates. In addition, the gardens are divided into 7 parts:
1.The decorative garden or gardens of love: represent the different types of love
2.The forest
3.The Water Garden: a lake surrounded by garden
4.The sun garden: plants in orange and yellow
5.The maze
6.The garden simple: Traditional medieval garden dedicated to culinary and medicinal herbs
7. The Orchard: Definitely my favorite part. It is a spectacular garden where the colors of fruits and vegetables create geometric shapes resulting in a stunning decorative garden.

Orleans
This city is located in central France on the banks of the Loire River, near the Loire Valley (you could also stay here to visit the castles). We had a bit of bad luck on our tour because the Martroi Square was being remodelied. This square is the heart of the city, famous for its buildings and the sculpture of Joan of Arc. Also, very impressive is the gothic Cathedral of Santa Cruz, with a height of 115 meters.
Orleans is a beautiful city to walk, enjoy its medieval buildings, the river, terraces, shops and streets.

Orleans
